Culturally Sensitive Therapy

You are welcome here.

Do you identify as a person of colour and want to better understand the relationship between culture and wellness? Or perhaps you’ve experienced racism, microaggressions, discrimination, profiling, or systemic oppression, and want a safe space to explore how these experiences have impacted you. If this is you, you’re not alone, and we’re glad you’re here. We believe consideration of a person’s ethnicity, skin colour and cultural history is relevant and important to achieving health and wellness. We also recognize that discrimination and prejudice is still active and ingrained in many of our systems and is still negatively impacting many people of colour. That doesn’t have to be the full story. We are ready to join you in the journey of recognizing your unique experience as a person of colour and giving a voice to your dignity and your worth.

How We Can Help

Our therapists know what it’s like to walk through this world as a person of colour, have been personally impacted by racialization, and are trained to support you through it. We have a culturally sensitive and trauma informed method of working with you to better understand the impact this has had on you. Our holistic method incorporates the personal, cultural, social, and spiritual aspects of who you are. Our therapists will personalize their approach to meet your specific needs, and your voice will be a guiding force throughout your therapeutic journey. We will work to remind you of your dignity, empower you to make the changes you want to see, and encourage you along your healing journey.
